Resource Resolutions

Announcement: Mark Podlasly joins RR Global Advisory Council

Resource Resolutions is very pleased to welcome Mark Podlasly, CEO of the First Nations Major Projects Coalition, to its Global Advisory Council.

Mark, a member of the Nlaka’pamux Nation, brings deep expertise in fostering genuine dialogue between energy, infrastructure and resource companies and Indigenous communities, with decades of experience advancing Indigenous involvement and co-ownership in major projects. His advocacy for equity-based partnerships has reshaped industry understanding of consent and risk reduction, and he is at the heart of efforts to ensure that economic and environmental values are central to project development.

Mark’s appointment comes at a critical juncture when the energy and natural resources sector faces significant challenges in building social license to operate. Indigenous communities control or have rights over territories containing an estimated 70 percent of global mineral resources currently targeted for development. Creating pathways for energy and resource development that respect Indigenous rights while meeting global demand for critical minerals essential to the energy transition requires exactly the kind of principled leadership and practical experience that Mark brings.

His work exemplifies the collaborative approach that Resource Resolutions champions: moving beyond adversarial relationships toward genuine partnership based on respect, shared decision-making, and equitable benefit distribution. As the resource sector confronts growing societal divisions and geopolitical tensions, Mark’s expertise in building bridges between seemingly divergent interests will be invaluable to our mission.

Mark Podlasly: “I’m delighted to join Resource Resolutions’ Global Advisory Council at a time when the energy and resources sector faces unprecedented challenges in building genuine partnerships with Indigenous communities. My experience has shown that when Indigenous peoples are treated as true partners rather than stakeholders to be consulted, projects become more successful, more sustainable, and more beneficial for everyone involved. Resource Resolutions’ commitment to finding win-win solutions through dialogue aligns with my belief that equity and shared decision-making are the foundation of lasting reconciliation in the resource sector.”

Daniel Litvin: “Mark’s joining our Global Advisory Council represents a significant strengthening of our expertise to address one of the most critical challenges in resource development today. His unique combination of Indigenous leadership, corporate governance experience, and deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges of energy and resource development brings exactly the perspective we need as we work to transform conflict into collaboration. Mark’s proven track record in creating equity-based partnerships between Indigenous communities and energy, infrastructure and resource companies exemplifies the kind of innovative, principled approach that Resource Resolutions was founded to support and scale globally.”
